White Chapel | Nathan and Skylar | Palm Harbor, FL

We had a wonderful time photographing Nathan and Skylar at their engagement session before Covid-19 lock down started. We felt so crushed for many of our brides and grooms and other clients that would have to be postponed to who knows when. But luckily for Nathan and Skylar, the restrictions lifted in time for their big day! We thought it was so fitting that their session was the last we photographed before Covid-19 and their wedding day was our first full wedding back to work, doing what we love!

Aaron’s family has known Nathan and Skylar through years of homeschooling. When they chose us to photograph them, we could not have been any more excited. So of course when their wedding day was over we admit we were a little bit sad the fun was coming to an end. During their wedding day the energy was high as we are sure you can imagine. Wedding days can be so stressful. People are running around everywhere with last minute decorative touches, vendors are arriving, guests may be showing up early, and trying to steal sneak peeks of the bride and groom, but Skylar was absolutely calm and so collected the days leading up to their wedding and during the wedding day.

Skylar chose light colors to accent the beauty of the white chapel and paired them with the deep richness of navy blue. Everything was so spectacular and full of personal touches that told their story and told who they were. Bobble heads were one of the main little themes throughout the day. Nathan had given each of his groomsmen personalized bobble heads, and their cake topper was also a bobble head of both Nathan and Skylar. There were also fun little surprises throughout the day such as one of Nathan’s groomsmen dressing up and pretending to be Skylar for the first look which made for some pretty great laughs. Nathan had also choreographed an intro dance routine as he entered in for the start of the ceremony. Think James Bond style with a Batman flare and you’ll know how epic it was!

While there were some really high moments like the breath-taking first look and how Nathan took in every single detail of his new bride to be. It wasn’t him just turning around smiling at her, but truly beaming, noticing her hair, her makeup, her dress, her shoes, the way she looked at him, every single aspect he truly took in and noticed. There were also some emotional moments. There were a few times we got choked up when watching Skylar and her parents interact. The bond between the three of them was incredibly strong which allowed us to feel all of the emotions and feel what they were feeling. It was also super emotional too, as Nathan’s mom had to be facetimed throughout the day as she was not able to be there due to COVID.

Some of our favorite moments of the day were the many times of the day that Nathan would check his heart rate to gauge his excitement to get married! Is that not the sweetest thing!?? The most fun part of their day!?? Definitely the ice-cream truck randomly pulling up outside. Literally the best sound to hear as a child so when we heard that familiar jingle on our way outside for their portraits, there was no way to say no to that! Ice cream anyone?
