A full wedding weekend together changes the rhythm of the day in the best way. Corey and Angela designed their Asheville Wedding around exactly that idea! They gathered their closest friends and family in one place so the celebration could unfold with plenty of time simply being together. The intimate camp theme of this wedding matched this down-to-earth couple to a t and we had such a great time photographing it!

ToggleParent Trap–Inspired Asheville Wedding Weekend
Instead of a traditional venue, Corey and Angela rented a large riverside VRBO along the French Broad River in Asheville. The house could sleep nearly twenty people, which meant their small group of loved ones spent the entire weekend together under one roof. It felt less like a wedding timeline and more like a relaxed summer camp!

They leaned fully into that idea with thoughtful details inspired by The Parent Trap. Guests received a custom magazine-style itinerary that introduced everyone attending, listed cabins and accommodations, outlined the weekend schedule, and shared recommendations for exploring Asheville. From the start, it felt playful, intentional, and personal.

The setting itself was just as memorable. Nearly every room in the house overlooked the river, and the surrounding trees created a quiet, peaceful backdrop for the day. Kids played downstairs with snacks and games while the bridal party got ready upstairs, and the entire property felt tucked away in the woods. It was truly the kind of place where everyone could slow down and enjoy the moment.

Riverside Ceremony on the French Broad River
The ceremony took place beside the river, framed by soft pink florals arranged along a delicate arch. A small quartet provided live music as guests gathered in the quiet clearing near the water. Angela walked down the aisle with her mother, and the moment Corey saw her, the emotion on his face said everything. It was one of those ceremonies where the energy felt calm and joyful at the same time.
After the ceremony, guests lingered outside for cocktail hour while a private chef prepared food and drinks. A grazing table invited everyone to gather, talk, and take in the view while portraits unfolded along the riverbank. With the French Broad River flowing behind them and the surrounding greenery still holding onto late-summer color, the setting created a calm, grounded atmosphere that made every moment feel effortless.

Circa 29 Reception in Downtown Asheville
As evening approached, a school bus transported everyone into downtown Asheville for the reception at Circa 29. This speakeasy-style venue provided a completely different atmosphere from the riverside ceremony. The dim lighting and vintage interior created an intimate setting for dinner, drinks, and speeches. Signature cocktails added personality to the evening, including the “Espresso Tucktini,” an espresso martini made with vodka, cold brew, Kahlua, and simple syrup, and the “Old Tucker,” a bourbon Old Fashioned finished with bitters and an orange slice.

Angela later changed into a shorter reception dress with long gloves before the dance floor filled with friends, family, and even a few younger guests joining the celebration. One of the most meaningful moments of the evening came when Angela surprised Corey with a video message compiled from athletes at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. It was an incredibly thoughtful gift that left the room emotional before the party continued late into the night.

Asheville Wedding Experience
We knew from our initial conversation with Corey and Angela that we were going to enjoy working with them. They are two of the most joyful, laid back people we’ve had the pleasure of meeting! As one can imagine, we were thrilled to hear the feeling was mutual! Here’s what Angela had to say about her experience with us as her Asheville wedding photographer:
“It was so wonderful working with you guys! I instantly felt at ease and nothing felt too demanding. I didn’t feel exhausted from having to overperform for photos or anything and everyone loved you guys! You all were warm, friendly and professional with good energy. They’re so reliable and my husband and I agree they were one of the best things about our wedding weekend. They told us they’d have 8-10 preview pieces and gave us 70. They deliver top quality and are just good people overall to support. They’ll pass your vibe check in every way.”
