It’s no secret that North Carolina is one of our favorite places on the planet to photograph engagements, weddings, and elopements. But when a couple contacts us about a Brown Mountain Beach Resort wedding and we get to photograph them amongst the stunning fall foliage? Cue the celebration! We’ve shot several weddings at this NC wedding venue, and each time we visit, we’re reminded why it’s one of our favorites. When Zach & Alex invited us to join them for their unplugged nuptials, we were overjoyed. And their gallery turned out to be one of our all-time favorites!

When it comes to the exact reasons we love this venue so much, there are truly too many to count! Kelsey and her staff are so down-to-earth and go above & beyond to make every couple’s wedding weekend a dream weekend. The sky is the limit when it comes to BMBR! They have a very unique family reunion approach to hosting couples and their guests. It allows everyone to come stay for the weekend, unplug (say goodbye to cell service in the best way), and just celebrate on the creek.
Alex & Zach’s Wedding in the Mountains NC
Zach and Alex’s wedding at Brown Mountain Beach Resort was unforgettable for so many reasons. Fall in North Carolina is always a dream, and they fully embraced the scenery with an organic, autumnal palette of muted browns, soft whites, and warm foliage. Alex’s flowing dress and lace veil added movement and grace, while Zach’s suit complemented the natural tones of the setting, blending seamlessly with the landscape.
More importantly, this was a couple who truly leaned in and embraced being present on their day. They didn’t worry about what was happening and when. Alex and Zach were very carefree, and it shows in their photos. This factor helped to create one of our favorite galleries ever. They were relaxed that it made for just the most beautiful and chill days that everyone could enjoy together. When you know you’re in good hands, it’s easy to relax and just trust knowing that everything will be taken care of.
Brown Mountain Beach Resort NC Reception
This couple didn’t just enjoy their day—they lived it fully. After their unplugged ceremony, they kicked off a reception that included an impressive 3.5 hours of nonstop dancing. Their hype crew kept the party going, making sure Zach and Alex had everything they needed while staying right by their side.
One of Alex’s bridesmaids even brought along an old camcorder to interview the entire bridal party, as well as their parents about the couple. It added an extra nostalgic touch and another layer of memory-making to an already memorable day.
What to Expect from this NC Wedding Venue
Long after the ceremony & reception ended, Alex and Zach along with their guests were able to enjoy their stay. When we say BMBR has everything covered, we mean it. They’ve truly thought of everything! Cabins and yurts come fully stocked with family-friendly touches like games, a popcorn maker, and cozy baskets of goodies. Each includes a hot tub, full bathroom, comfy beds, couches, dining space, microwave, sink, island cart, fridge, utensils, Blackstone and standard grill. There’s no oven or stove—but trust us, you won’t miss it. The on-site café serves drinks, sandwiches, and a few select menu items.
Beyond wedding festivities, guests can enjoy four-wheeling, creek floats, hiking, bonfires, movie nights, and yoga on the beach. Kelsey and Jeremy have truly created a space that’s laid-back, family-oriented, and full of fun.
