When the personalities of a couple shine through in the details of their wedding day, it makes our jobs as wedding photographers even more exciting. This was definitely the case when we had the honor of capturing Ashley & Matt’s Christ-centered outdoor wedding in Lenoir, North Carolina! This special couple wanted intentionality and connection for their big day, and between the lack of cell phone signal, stunning scenery, and the friends & family who joined them, they achieved exactly that.
Brown Mountain Beach Resort: A Top Outdoor Wedding Venue in NC
This picturesque Lenoir, NC outdoor wedding venue is one of our favorites to photograph! Nestled in the secluded mountains of western North Carolina, this hidden gem wedding venue is ideal for couples like Matt and Ashley who want an unplugged wedding day. Brown Mountain Beach Resort boasts views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, 23 acres right next to Pisgah National Forest, and a stretch of Wilson Creek that runs through the property. The scenery is truly a wedding photographer’s dream! This outdoor venue is family owned and their staff is dedicated to providing couples with a relaxed, beautiful wedding day experience. Guests can stay on the property and enjoy their stay by floating on the river, fourwheeling, or enjoying projector movies and bonfires on the beach. At this stunning location, Ashley and Matt were able to hide away from the rest of the world and all of its distractions with their closest friends and family. They spent their time truly being present & celebrating their union.
Beachside North Carolina Wedding Ceremony
One of the things that we noticed immediately about Matt and Ashley is that they are a couple who draws people to them. Their ability to love and serve others is evident the second you meet them. It was beyond fitting that they chose a North Carolina outdoor wedding venue that allowed true connection among guests to celebrate their big day. Because of this, it was equally fitting that their entire ceremony was Christ-centered. Theirs was more of a message than a traditional ceremony that focused on Jesus’ love & service for people. It was beautiful to watch (and photograph) them worship with their family and friends. Every detail of their ceremony was intentional, down to the song “The Blessing” played during communion.
After seeing this couple together, we’re certain this song was foreshadowing of the blessings to come in their marriage. It was powerful to witness their guests worship with them before everyone was asked to come forward to lay hands and pray over Ashley & Matt. We were left with chills at the end of the ceremony!
Rock Pavilion Reception at Brown Mountain
Following their beachside ceremony, the new Mr. & Mrs. Bradberry along with their guests headed to the rock pavilion/event hall for the reception. We’ll be the first to tell you, a time was had by all! From the ceremony and communion to the toasts, and even the songs they picked for dancing, this couple poured so much love and thought into every decision they made and it showed. It was an emotional day (beginning with Ashley’s first look with her dad– cue ALL the tears!) that ended in fun on the dance floor with the people closest to them. This serene, detailed, elegant wedding will without a doubt be one we never forget!
