Ryan and Maddie’s wedding in Tampa was everything a downtown celebration should be. It was stylish, fun, emotional, and fully centered around connection. From bubble umbrellas in the rain to the moment Ryan saw Maddie walk down the aisle, every part of this day overflowed with joy, intention, and deep love. Despite the storms, they embraced everything that came their way with grace. They celebrated their big day surrounded by the ultimate hype crew. And they created a wedding day that was completely, beautifully them.

ToggleThe Hotel Flor: A Tampa Wedding Venue
The Hotel Flor is a newer, up-and-coming wedding venue in downtown Tampa, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite. Located just blocks from the Riverwalk, it has been recently renovated and restored with a luxurious Art Deco flair, featuring brass details, black and white accents, marble finishes, and bold, velvet touches throughout. The space pairs beautifully with modern or vintage-inspired wedding styles. Maddie and Ryan leaned into a sleek, monochromatic color palette, which felt like an effortless match for the space.
The hotel offers three distinct event spaces. These areas range in sizes that can accommodate every size guest list from more intimate gatherings to grand receptions. Hotel Flor also offers multiple wedding packages, block booking for overnight guests, and full-service support. From customized menus to day-of coordination, the team helps streamline every detail to ensure your wedding runs smoothly from start to finish. (You can read all about it here.)

Planning a Wedding in Tampa
Maddie and Ryan had a large number of guests flying in from out of town, which made downtown Tampa the perfect hub for their wedding weekend. The area is full of walkable restaurants, parks, and museums. It’s also just a short ride to the beach if guests want to extend their stay.
That said, parking in Tampa can be a challenge. Street parking is limited, and valet is available through the hotel, but couples should be sure to communicate parking tips in advance (especially if they have guests with mobility concerns.) There are a few paid lots nearby, but options may be limited on busy weekends. Still, downtown Tampa is a dream for wedding photography. Modern architecture, murals, and city crosswalks create the perfect canvas for stylish, editorial portraits. And when the skies turn dramatic, as they did for Maddie and Ryan, the city streets and umbrellas only add to the story.

An Emotional Wedding in Tampa
Two moments stood out the most to us from Maddie & Ryan’s wedding in Tampa. First, the emotional first look between Maddie and her dad. Not only did he cry—he took the time to slowly walk around her, taking in every detail of her dress and holding the moment with deep reverence. It wasn’t just a tearful “wow.” It was intentional, and it was beautiful.

Then there was Ryan. When Maddie walked down the aisle, he completely lost it in the best way. He bawled his eyes out and everyone else in the room joined him. Guests turned to watch him instead of the bride. The emotion in the room was so strong it was palpable. As wedding photographers, we’ve seen our fair share of teary grooms, but this one was next-level, and we’ll never forget it. But their wedding day was also full of joy and laughter!

Joy-Filled Wedding Reception in Tampa FL
One of the most refreshing things about Maddie and Ryan was how clear their priorities were. They wanted to be present and enjoy their day with the people they loved most. Everything was planned with the reception in mind because Maddie knew she wanted to dance with her guests. The party was the priority. And when we tell you this bridal party showed up—we mean it. Maddie and Ryan surrounded themselves with people who were all-in, ready to celebrate hard, and make the day unforgettable. If you’re planning your wedding right now, don’t underestimate how much your wedding party can shape the energy of your day.

As Seen on Marry Me Tampa Bay
Photos were not the biggest priority for Maddie & Ryan as opposed to videography footage Aaron got of the day. Despite this, the gallery of their wedding day is now featured on Marry Me Tampa Bay! Not only are we incredibly proud of our work, Maddie & Ryan’s day was equally as beautiful as they are. They had a clear vision for a timeless day when they set out to plan their nuptials. Maddie’s sleek satin gown and modern bouquet of white roses perfectly complemented both the venue and the urban backdrop of downtown Tampa. This celebration full of modern romance, candid emotion, and downtown charm is sure to inspire future Tampa brides!
